Quality with regional ingredients.
(Practically) anybody can simply brew beer. The Altenburger Brewery, however, has chosen quality and creativity as its motto and satisfies with a diverse and attractive range of beers, a popular factory outlet and its own brewery museum. Deeply rooted in the region and its inhabitants, the family business relies on regional ingredients, such as hops from the Elbe-Saale region, and has already received numerous awards for this strategy and its convincing products.
A traditional company with flair: a clean product range with outstanding beers in flip-top bottles
The brewery has been producing the coveted beer in the skat city since 1871, and with a total of 100,000 hectolitres in 1914 had the largest turnover in Thuringia. Since 1991, the Leikeim family from Upper Franconia has managed the tradition company and perceives itself as an ambassador for good beer and part of a new feeling in the Eastern part of Germany. The result: festival beer, Bock, lager, Premium Pils, Radler cloudy beer and dark beer from superb brewing processes.
Not only for beer sommeliers: gastronomy, museum and factory outlet
Beer lovers and visitors will discover a comprehensive range of hop and malt beers at the venerable Brauereistraße (Brewery St.) in Altenburg. The Brewery Museum presents interesting facts on the history and manufacture of beer; the art nouveau brew-house, banqueting hall, beer garden and Alte Tenne (Old Threshing Floor) can all be used for family parties, company events or conferences.
